As a third generation racer and son of Sprint Cup Series driver Dave Blaney, we were happy that Ryan Blaney, 21, took some time out of his busy schedule to chat with us!
Ryan, who drives the No. 29 Ford F-150 for Brad Keselowski Racing in the Camping World Truck Series, as well as the No. 22 Ford Mustang and No. 12 Ford Mustang for Team Penske in the Nationwide Series, and No. 12 Ford Fusion in the Sprint Cup Series, on a part-time basis, is a young man on his way to becoming a Champion.
Ryan’s stats for 2014 included: 22 starts, 1 win, 1 pole, 12 top 5’s, 17 top 10’s, and 181 laps led

The Interview:
Michelle: At what age did you start racing?
Ryan Blaney: “Age 8, started in ¼ midgets.”
M: If you could relive a day in your life, what day/event would you relive?
Ryan: “First Truck Series win in 2012. It was my 1st truck win, along with Brad Keselowski Racing’s 1st truck win.”
M: Your thoughts on the new Chase format?
Ryan: “I think it’s a good change, brings more excitement to the racing for the fans, with elimination rounds and one final race to decide a champion.”

M: Your favorite track to run?
Ryan: “Dover.”
M: Your least favorite to run?
Ryan: “Martinsville.”
M: If you could talk to a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give yourself knowing what you know now?
Ryan: “Learn more about the car and the engineering side of racing.”

M: If you weren’t racing, what could you see yourself doing?
Ryan: “I have no idea, that’s why I am a racer.”
M: How do you relax and unwind after a bad day?
Ryan: “It’s hard, I like to watch the races right when I get home, a good or a bad race.”
M: If you could delete a bad day from your life, what event would that be?
Ryan: “Talladega Nationwide Series race of 2014. We had a very fast car and made a mistake and caused a wreck.”
M: What charities/organization do you support?
Ryan: “Alzheimer’s Association I am a big supporter of. My grandmother had it and I’ve supported it ever since.”
M: Your thoughts on any of the NASCAR rule changes for 2015?
Ryan: “Nothing but positive, I think the new rules will benefit the racing.”
M: If you could thank anyone for something right now that you may have missed the chance to do, who would it be and why?
Ryan: “My dad first, he has put a lot into my career. Then Brad Keselowski, he gave me a shot on 2012, which lead me to be a part of Penske.”

M: Your favorite driver while growing up?
Ryan: “Other than my dad, Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon. Hard not to be a fan of theirs growing up.”
M: What is one piece of advice you would give to a kid starting out in the racing field?
Ryan: “Work hard for what you want and if you do, good things are likely to happen.”
M: A random unknown fact about yourself?
Ryan: “I can ball pretty good, basketball that is.”
