Kyle Busch won Saturday’s Gander Outdoors 150 in the truck series at Pocono Raceway. The win was Busch’s second on the season and 51st of his truck career which ties him first all-time with series legend Ron Hornaday Jr.
Busch led the field to the green but his teammate Todd Gilliland led by the time the field hit turn 1. Busch reclaimed the lead the following lap and seemed to have the 15 lap stage well in hand. With Busch not being a series regular he opted out of winning the stage and pitted with 4 to go instead. Gilliland reclaimed the lead and held of Justin Haley for the stage win.
Busch regained the lead once everyone else pitted and lead for 6 laps when stage 2 brgan. Buschās other teammate Erik Jones, who was substituting for an ill Noah Gragson, passed him with 4 to go. Both trucks pitted with 2 to go which gave the lead to Steward Friesen who would win his fourth stage win of the season.
Dalton Sargeant lead as the green flag flew on the final 25 laps of the race. Once again though, Busch proved too strong and had the lead a lap later. Jones mounted a late charge but could never get past him.
