Elliott Dominates Second Duel at Daytona

Chase Elliott won the second Can-Am Duel race at Daytona International Speedway. It’s his third Duel race and his second Duel win in a row. Also leading laps was Denny Hamlin, who led and ran second much of the race, but fell back to ninth after being shuffled out late in the race.

Only one incident slowed the race. It happened when Chase Elliott took the air off of Erik Jones’s quarter panel, sending him spinning. Matt DiBenedetto and Kyle Larson were also involved. Both of their days were ended by the incident, but Jones continued to finish third.

Close calls were many early on, but the race calmed down as the laps ran out. Anticipation built as talk of late-race moves increased, and Kevin Harvick dove below second-place Denny Hamlin, shuffling Hamlin back to ninth, where he’d finish. Paul Menard was the victim of a similar move, and he fell back from fourth to seventh place.
