Qualifying for the front row for the Daytona 500 was Sunday afternoon.  After a rough and tumble Sprint Unlimited outing on Saturday night drivers got down to business Sunday.  NASCAR’s next stars Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney both made it to the final rounds of Sprint Cup qualifying Top drivers that joined them in the final round were Dale Earnhardt Jr. and 2014 Daytona 500 winner Joey Logano.  Martin Truex was unable to join the qualifying session due to issues with the roof flaps not properly closing on his number 78 Toyota and was pushed behind the wall when the five minute qualifying clock expired.

At the conclusion of the final round Chase Elliott landed on the pole in his Napa Auto Parts Chevrolet at 196.314 mph and Matt Kenseth was on the outside pole in his Dollar General Toyota at 196.036 mph.

The front row is all that matters in qualifying the rest of the starting positions will be determined on Thursday in the Can-Am Duels
